califusa gets domesticated at the  Family Winemakers of California tasting

Introduction

I didn’t have to think about this one very much.

Tomorrow I would embark on the Fall Bacchus Tour (story coming soon to a computer screen near you), and this would give me a chance to warm up my palate for the festivities that lay ahead.

I didn’t know very much about the Family Winemakers of California. This was their 8th Annual Tasting, but I was told that this was only the second to be open to the public.

Family Winemakers of California "promotes the rights and interests of all members to freely produce, market and sell their products. Family Winemakers of California is uniquely focused to represent California table wine within the legislative and regulatory system."

I don’t know much about the politics or effectiveness of this group as a lobbying organization, but they sure know how to put on a wine tasting! Not only that, but I got to spend a little time with fellow Toursters Eric Slusser and Brian Kinsella – and, I also had the pleasure of meeting Josh Dulac.

I arrived during the early trade portion of the tasting, and waded right in.
